Ten members and wives assembled today at the Ulster Ash Grove to represent all our members for the Act of Remembrance. What a difference from last year's service when we had approximately 1000 on parade and 2083 crosses laid around the UAG.
Rob (Trebor) read the Unit Roll of Honour, Irvine laid the Association wreath, Peter (P-C) laid the UDR wreath and cavalry unit crosses and I laid a cross in memory of Ken (Deadhorse).
Shortly after our tribute representatives from the Royal Green Jacket Association joined us at the UAG and two of their buglers played The Last Post and The Rouse, with a minutes silence, for us. It was very much appreciated.
Let us all hope that this time next year we are well and truly back to normal and we can, again, do what we do best.
My sincere thanks to everybody, some who made some long journeys to be there today to honour our Fallen.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the UDR CGC. They were intending to hold a special service at the NMA this year to honour their many Fallen members but Covid-19 prevented that.
Mrs. P-C made a special willow wreath to place by the Ulster Memorial.
