It should be noted that the below roll's of honour were built up with the assistance of sites such as "Britains Small Wars", to whom we remain eternally greatful.
These roll's contain the names of some 730 armed forces personnel who lost thier lives in Northern Ieland. Since then, and more specifically this year, NIVA has done a lot more research into service pesonnel deaths (Special thanks go to Big Stevie for all his hard work in this area) which has resulted in a list of around 1386 deaths.
This figure contains the names of persons who died, whilst on operational postings to Northern Ireland (Op Banner), regardless of how they died, be it terrorist action or as the result of a road traffic incident. Any loss, regardless of situation or circumstance, is a loss too many.
The Roll of Honour, which is available on the menu bar to the left of your screen, now contains over 1500 entries as we slowly build the list to include the losses suffered by the RUC (GC), PSNI and the Northern Ireland Prison Service.
Currently, there are no plans to update the Roll's of Honour listed below as all efforts are going into making a definative roll of honour which can be found to your left, just click the link.
We hope you understand what we are trying to achieve and why and please continue to use these pages to post your own personal remembrace comments.
Should you be able to offer any information on the circumstances of anyones death or there is someone missing from the roll of honour, please forward this informaiton of us at webmaster@nivets.org.uk
Lest we forget.
