In memory of a fine young man and soldier who was murdered on this day in 1982. Leon died whilst opening up a road block barrier which had been booby trapped. He died instantly. His death was one of three that happened in the short space of one week during our tour. Lbr Kevin Waller died on the 20th of Sept from injuries he received on 16th from a bomb hidden in a cast iron drain pipe in Cullintree Walk in theDivis flats. Pte Martin Jessop was murdered by a pira RPG7 attack on the rear sangar of Springfield Road RUC station.
RIP three fine men.
