Obituary for Brian Harding

I write to inform members of the death of my husband Brian Harding (S/Sgt REME) on 18th August, 2024. His funeral was held in Edinburgh on 13th September, 2024. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in April 2023 and despite having a total gastrectomy, the cancer spread through the lymph nodes into other parts of his body. He did express a wish that his Ken Wharton books be given to NIVA. Can anyone advise me how this can be fulfilled please?

Sorry for the delay in posting this but I only recently found his log on details. Can I remain on the site on his behalf and if so can you advise me of subscription fees?

So sorry for you and your family's loss Fiona. Brian will be missed by NIVA. As to Ken's books and retaining membership, I'm sure someone from the administration will be in touch about that.

Fiona, to join NIVA in your own right, instead of using Brians log in details, look for the signup/register button, click on that, then complete your details. When you have done that, I will send you an email with details of the subscription, currently it is £5 till April, which I think we will waive as Brian paid his subs in March. Then from April it is £10 a year.

Regarding the books, there is an address for our Membership Secretary, its the Derby one, which you will see at the top of the page.
