Strangely enough Onion I was working on an official database for those members of the British Army that were killed in Northern Ireland, and I logged George's details just this evening, and I thought of you, his old mate ... and I knew he wouldn't be forgot.

Onion mate. I often think of George, even though I didn't personaly know him. I was manning an LMG Sanger at the time In Dungannon, when the news of Georges death came through on the radio. I went to the trees last year, to place a poppy tribute to a colleague and friend of mine, shot dead during that tour ON MY BIRTHDAY. This was the day we left. :x I felt drawn to visit George's tree, but it took so long to find Eric's tree that we ran out of time! Maybe next time mate! RIP George, Ive often wondered who you were and what you looked like!

32 years today - contact at 22.06, died 22.08 in the arms of a mate, since visited the exact spot and his grave, something I couldn't have done without NIVA so thanks to you all for your understanding, your support but most of all your friendship.

Onion mate, you were such a big help to me, laying a wreath and sending a photo of Jacko's tree to me, hope one day soon to return the favour.
