Part Time B Coy - 6th Bn. Ulster Defence Regiment
He was fatally injured when an IRA booby-trap bomb exploded under his works van. The explosion occurred not far from his home at Castlederg as his wife and baby daughter stood and waved him goodbye. He died three hours later in hospital. He was married with four children and Off Duty at the time of his murder.
