Cpl. (David) Brian Brown – Aged 37
3rd Bn. Ulster Defence Regiment – D Coy
Killed by the IRA along with his search-dog as they made a second search of a petrol station after a bomb warning. A colleague was badly injured in the explosion. He had been a dog-handler for ten years, and he was posthumously awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal. He was married with four children at the time of his murder.
They worked together and died together … companions ‘til the end and inseparable. A master and his faithful friend.
Rest in peace colleague.
