L/Cpl. Robert Crozier – Aged 46
2nd Bn. Ulster Defence Regiment – B Coy
Killed in an IRA bomb attack on Glenane UDR Base.
A lorry packed with 2,500lb of home-made explosives was rolled down a hill into the base. Such was the explosion that it was heard fifty miles away. Pte. Sydney Hamilton and Pte. Paul Blakely were also killed in this explosion, and these three Soldiers had accumulated a total of more than fifty years Service in the Regiment. He was married with two children and was on duty at the time of his murder.
